Taming Multi-Location Chaos: How We Optimized Logistics for SuperBra

Taming Multi-Location Chaos: How We Optimized Logistics for SuperBra - Outerpreneur

SuperBra is a prominent lingerie retailer in the Netherlands with a thriving online presence and three physical locations in Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Rotterdam. While their business was growing, their backend logistics were hitting a bottleneck.

The logistical nightmare: trying to fulfill a single customer order from three different store locations.

The Challenge: The Multi-Location Logistics Nightmare Growth is great, but it often breaks existing workflows. The core issue SuperBra faced was fulfillment chaos. Orders were pouring in containing items stock at different physical store locations.

  • Split Shipments: A single customer order might require items from both Rotterdam and Utrecht.

  • Carrier Limitations: Most logistics carriers have APIs that strictly require "One Order = One Shipment." They struggle to handle a single Shopify order ID being fulfilled from multiple origins simultaneously.

  • Manual Friction: Beyond shipping, the picking and packing process was entirely manual. Staff were changing inventory numbers via input fields rather than scanning items, leading to slower processing and potential human error.

The Collaboration To solve this, I teamed up with Stein and Jochem, business growth consultants. While they focused on the high-level operational strategy, I stepped in to provide the technical architecture and Shopify expertise required to execute the vision.

The new, automated tech stack we implemented to handle multi-location fulfillment, shipping, and inventory.

The Solution: A New Tech Stack We implemented a robust suite of tools to automate the workflow:

1. Solving the Split with Order Split Pro This was the most critical technical hurdle. Even though Shopify has native split capabilities, the carrier integrations couldn't handle the data correctly. We implemented Order Split Pro to automate this based on rules.

  • How it works: When an order contains items located in different stores, the tool automatically edits the original order and creates new, separate orders for each location. This ensures the carrier API receives clean, distinct data for every package.

2. Streamlining Logistics with Sendcloud Leveraging my past experience with Sendcloud, we onboarded this platform to handle the heavy lifting of European logistics. It now manages:

  • Picking and packing lists.

  • Automated tracking updates.

  • A streamlined returns portal for customers.

3. Digitizing Inventory with EasyScan We said goodbye to manual data entry. With EasyScan, we introduced barcode scanning for fulfillment and inventory management. This tool also simplified the barcode label printing process for the physical stores, drastically reducing time spent on administrative tasks.

What’s Next? The chaos has been replaced by a streamlined, automated workflow. Orders are routed correctly, inventory is scanned accurately, and customers get their tracking info faster. We are already looking ahead to 2026, where we plan to overhaul and improve the Purchase Order process to further tighten the supply chain.
